Ridiculously Busy with Artificial Intelligence
To be answerable to those of you who misses me for past few month, here is some updates from me dudes. My apologies for not being able to catch up with most of you. Take good care of yourselves alright. =)
Final year project aka FYP is what I have been ridiculously busy with for past weeks. Usually it should be fine BUT, I have somehow chosen a very challenging one to avoid heavy usage of mathematics. So I ended up having to do a project related to Artificial intelligence. Well I shan’t bother to explain much about what is Artificial Intelligence, it is tough for so many of you to understand.
Conversations with my professors on my project. Yeah they have HIGH expectations.
Prof XXX and YYY:
Here you go, you will have to make use of neural network to predict the data and you can use the latest version of Matlab in the CAD/Cam Lab. We can provide you with some concepts with the software that we have used when we were student ( that was like more that 20 years ago and the software were no longer in use).
This is equivalent to telling me that they cannot teach me on the software they needed me to use.
Lab Technician:
For Matlab Neural network, we have not came across it as it is not commonly use in campus. You can refer back to your professors for assistance. ( oh gawd!! )
Prof XXX and YYY:
don’t worry, we can provide you with some concepts, here are some conference journals that were done by some researchers.
I was given a stack of very old yellow but useful readings dated back 1980s! Well some of the knowledge are still applicable to my project.
Then I met my friend and another Professor.
Friend and Professor AA: How are you Cheryl? Who is your FYP supervisors.
Cheryl: Oh my supervisors are prof XXX and prof YYY.
Friend: Hallelujah
Prof AA: Oh may god bless you.
That’s very encouraging haha…
Prof XXX and YYY:
as for how to use Matlab, if the technician cannot help, maybe the technical support for the software from the supplier in Singapore can help.
Matlab Techincal support crew:
Oh sorry Cheryl, Matlab neural network toolbox is unable to generate a 4-layer network that you need as it the software is limited to the generation of 2 layer network using the GUI. Perhaps some debugging has to be done but we are not able to provide the support that you need for debugging.
When I have spoken to the support crew, I felt that I know more about neural network than him. This is getting crazy haha.
Well luckily with the help of my friend from computer engineering, we managed to debug the software and applied it for my project. Having being stuck with debugging for a long time, my professors were like Wow, wow how to use the program script.
Cheryl:
Prof XXX and Prof YYY, let me show you how it can be used (with a lot of excitement in me)
Prof XXX and Prof YYY:
Good good ok, now we can proceed on, (that is when I have only 6 weeks left for completing my project.)
Now 1 week left for my report.
Conclusion: bite my teeth and press on. Get it over and done with and you can survive!! Revive your CAN DO IT!!
Looking forward to it indeed, by the end of the term, I will be a student from Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering with rich HR, Marketing and Business background. Wow Multi functional employee!! Yeah!!
