The Dentist

Me: I would like you to perform cleaning and examine why this tooth of mine is a little unusual compared to others.

Dentist: Alright, oh that tooth is having a nerve infection, that's why.

Me: How did it happen? How to improve it?
Dentist: Hard knocks on it when you were young?

Me: Nope, but braces...
Dentist: Yap, that can happen too during the process. A relapse perhaps. Let me clean you teeth first.

Me: Your suction pipe is not working, it is splashing all over.....
Dentist:......

Me: so we are done with cleaning, so what can be done to rectify the situation of my tooth?

Dentist: Simple.....

1st: We have to drill a hole on your tooth...and treat the nerve for a few sessions.
2nd: Use cement and re apply it to the crown of your tooth....

Me:......(Sounds like what was done to some parts of my aircraft....)
Dentist: Would you like to do this root canal treatment?

Me: Yes, let me look at my schedule....perhaps after CNY.....
Dentist: Ok next week after CNY then.

Me: Erm....March would be better option for me...will check my schedule again for reservation.

(Of coz I gonna do that, just have to be after CNY bcoz that process gonna cause a little sore....don't worry, I'll be fine =P)

With Perseverance comes Treasures

Ladies and Gentlemen, proudly brought to you by PERSEVERANCE.

Since I had too much coffee and is taking a rest from my revision…decided to blog.

The story started from 2 months ago when I brought my dearie lappy to it’s service centre for servicing.

First trip to the service centre, while waiting for my turn to be serviced, I was sitting back at the nice seats and listening to some nice music they played. About 15mins, I was waiting when I heard one song with a very impact voice from a female, since it was played very softly, I was unable to hear the lyrics, just had the tune registered in my mind.

After the song, I heard another familiar English songs from one of my Dad’s old CD, and after this song, I heard the song Don’t Cry for me Argentina. So I was wondering if this album that they were playing is a compilation of love songs.

2nd trip to the service centre to collect my lappy, AGAIN I heard the song within the 15mins duration waiting! This time, I am getting very fond of the song by that lady, but still, I cannot hear the lyrics but just remembered the chorus. Almost wanted to ask the service officer what was the title of the song or the album, but then, my lappy was the priority that time, so I gave up the idea of asking.

Determined to find out more about the song, I have decided to try to search for the song starting with knowing what the song was after that and right before Don’t Cry for me Argentina. So here I go, browsing the tracks of my dad’s old CDs….Found the song right after the song I loved, it was called ANAK, by a Filipino Male Artist.

Next with the 2 titles I knew, I went to Amazon to search for possible matches, spent 2 days, argh….cannot find the exact song I like. I have tried the Pandora recommended by Ying as well, but still…..

Decided to take more physical action, went to the nearest mall near my place with 3 CD shops, seek helped from the shop assistants to help me with all possible albums with ANAK and Don’t cry for me Argentina, but still cannot find the album with the song I liked. But still, I have to thank them for the professional help.

Later, I have decided to take a break from that then until I get the inspiration for a new search since I have so many deadlines with my studies to meet for past months.

Today, perhaps it was time, I happened to meet my cousin online and then I happened to ask her for some nice music, she recommended Secret Garden, Enigma etc…Sarah Brightman….I asked her if she knew of any possible song female artist with a very impactful voice that has a chorus that sounds Worldly?

Cousin: What is the name of the singer?
Me: Don’t know, could be Enya, Sarah Brightman kind but no idea…
Cousin: Title of the song?
Me: Don’t know, but I know the titles of the song after that song, it is blah blah and blah blah.

Cousin: Oh my goodness, how can I search for you with such “useful” information?
Me: Try searching all the CD albums you have at home (they have a vast collection)
Cousin: Can you give me a call and sing it to me?
Me: Ok

Of course I called; I told her I have no idea how to sing it since I do not know the lyrics… All I did was to hum the tune to her, but it wasn’t any helpful. She continued to google it for me which I tried before but in vain……During the search process, I have discovered a lot of nice songs to suit my vast preference for music.

After quite sometime, she told me that she could have found the possible answer from an album only available from Thai Mart.

YES, this was it!

Sarah Brightman - Only An Ocean Away

I see a shadow every day and night.
I walk a hundred streets of neon lights,
Only when I'm crying.
Can you hear me crying.

So many times you always wanted more,
Chasing illusions that you're longing for.
Wish I wasn't crying.
Can you hear me crying.

There's an ocean between us.
You know where to find me.
You reach out and touch me.
I feel you in my own heart.
More than a lifetime.
Still goes on forever.
But it helps to remember
You're only an ocean away.

Was there a moment when I felt no pain.
I want to feel it in my life again.
Let it be over now.
Oh Oh over now.
'Cause I remember all the days and nights
We used to walk the streets of neon lights
Oh I want you here with me.Oh be here with me.

There's an ocean between us.
You know where to find me.
You reach out and touch me.
I feel you in my own heart.
More than a lifetimeStill goes on forever.
But it helps to remember
You're only an ocean away.

So many times you always wanted more,
Chasing illusions that you're longing for.
Wish I wasn't crying.
Can you hear me crying.

There's an ocean between us.
You know where to find me.
Just reach out and touch me.
I feel you in my own heart.
More than a lifetime
It seems like forever.
But I'll always remember
You're only an ocean away.
Only an ocean away.

Moral of the story: With Perseverance comes treasures…

4.10am: listening to the song while entering the wonderland......

Emotional Saturday Night

I have been a strong believer of the quote by “The Alchemist”

"When you really want something to happen, the whole universe conspires so that your wish comes true"

This is not because it is motivating, but mainly for the fact that I have witnessed it myself in the things I have done in the past till now. Now I am challenged along the way in making a very important decision for the coming year, it also challenges my belief in the quote. Not because of the fact that I am not confident about myself, but about how I am limited with some resources that I have obstacles creating now. I have been trying many ways to work around it, I have always been telling some of my friends that I will never allow this obstacle to limit my personal development, thus I have worked really hard about it to enable me to move on to what I really wanted to do.
Whatever will be the outcome......

Winston Churchill once said in his 30 minutes long speech in the middle of Warring times: “Never, Never give up!”
